Today, Marie attended the warming up of the blast furnace at Glass Futures.
She stated “This is a hugely exciting moment for our town.
We have a proud heritage built on glass. Now we’re seeing that tradition evolve with world-leading, high-quality R&D and decarbonised innovation. St Helens played its part in the Industrial Revolution, now its playing its part in the Green Industrial Revolution.
I couldn’t be more proud of what this is bringing to the town. The local jobs, the skills, the innovation, it’s a privilege to support it.”
