Rainhill Trials Exhibition

In March, Marie visited the longstanding Rainhill Trials Exhibition.

The Exhibition is a reminder of the huge role that Rainhill played in modern transport. At the trials, George Stephenson’s Rocket was the only locomotive to complete them all.

Marie said: “I had a great time visting the Rainhill Trials Exhibition. Thanks to Paula for being a great host and showing me around.

“Trains are a huge part of the local history of Rainhill. It added so much to our town. Trains are my favourite way to travel.

“Yet despite being at the forefront of the train revolution, our area has been let with poor services.
A Northern Powerhouse rail network to connect the great cities of the North and all the wonderful towns inbetween must be seriously considered.”
